What is DIBS?
DIBS connects people who need everyday household jobs done with local independent gig providers. You request the job; a provider accepts and does the work; payment stays in DIBS.
Is it like ordering a ride or food from an app?
That’s the idea, but for household jobs: request local help from your phone. With DIBS, you choose the household task and timing, and your job is confirmed when a provider accepts.
What can I hire someone to do?
Cleaning, lawn and yard help, pet help, packing, furniture assembly, organizing, errands, and other household tasks. Browse all 19 categories at the top of this page and tap a specific task. Availability depends on your location and the job scope.
What do I pay?
DIBS Home is free for your first 30 days, then $4.99/month (cancel anytime). Each job is priced up front and paid in two parts: 50% when you book, and the other 50% when the job is done, when you can also add a tip (100% goes to your pro). You see every amount, including any sales tax, before you pay.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancelling is free until a pro commits to your job. Once your pro is on the way, or within 2 hours of your appointment, a $25 late-cancellation fee goes to the pro for their time and the rest is refunded. If your pro arrives and can't reach you or get in for 15 minutes, a $25 trip fee is kept. If the job turns out bigger than posted, your pro asks for a new price in the app and you choose whether to approve it.
Do I pay the provider cash?
Pay through DIBS. Keep payment and messages in the platform so your job record stays together.
Is my job booked as soon as I submit it?
Submitting creates a request. It becomes confirmed when a provider accepts. If it has not been accepted, check the request in DIBS; do not assume someone is on the way.
How do I become a provider?
Tap Apply as a pro near the top of this page and sign in. First, a short walkthrough shows how jobs, pay and commitments work, and you initial each part. Then five short screens: about you, the jobs and area you cover, a background check, and agreements. Then start DIBS Pro ($9.99/month). Once approved, claim the jobs you want, first come, first serve.
Where is DIBS available?
DIBS is beta testing in the Tri-Cities, Washington: Richland, Kennewick, Pasco, and West Richland. Service availability varies. Nationwide launch is planned for January 1, 2027.
